Nut Night: Zoom Cooking Class on 6/13
Nuts are the king of the kitchen. They come from plants, first of all, so they add creaminess to vegan dishes when blended and a satisfying crunch to salads and all sorts of things when roughly chopped — all without the aid of animal products. You can appreciate them raw or draw out their flavors with a quick toast, enjoy them in savory dishes or use them to add complexity to sweets, savor them plain or toss them together in a mix. Nuts are good any time of day and any time of year, whether they’re sprinkled atop roasted squash in the fall or eaten plain by the palm full with a cold beer during the last sunset of summer.
Anyway, I am thinking about NUTS and looking ahead to the long days and assertive sunshine of June. So I want to have a summery Nut Night next month, and I want you to join me!
What is Nut Night? It is an evening of cooking that celebrates the magic of nuts. Three Italian-inspired dishes — an appetizer, main pasta course, and dessert — will star three of my most favorite-ist nuts, forming a meal that is terrifically toothsome and bountifully bursting with nutritious and flavorful fats.
Il menu
Antipasto: Charred eggplant with garlicky toasted pine nuts, lemon, and basil
Primo: Pasta of your choice con salsa di noci, a heavenly white walnut pesto
Dolce: Apricot and almond crumble with whipped mascarpone
These dishes are 100% vegetarian and can easily be made vegan with some quick adaptations — more on all of that when you sign up and receive the recipes and shopping list!

About my private cooking classes
Finalmente, I have updated my website to include more information about my virtual and in-person cooking classes. Feel free to refer to that if you or a friend are curious about arranging a private lesson — I’d love to set something up with you!
To summarize, private virtual classes in which we make one pasta course and a vegetable side (selected by you from my list of options) cost $175 total for groups of 9 or fewer or $20 per person for groups of 10 or more. The rate for private “special-occasion” classes, in which we build a custom menu together, depends on class size and length. Send me an email or DM with your inquiry.
